When booking your appointment with us, please consider giving yourself enough time so you don’t have to rush somewhere else afterwards. This way you’ll feel less stressed and have time to make sure you’re comfortable after your visit. When booking, feel free to ask how long your appointment may last to help you plan!
When you arrive, as a new patient you’ll be asked to fill out some forms. You can get ahead of the game by filling these out before hand and bringing them with you! Access new patient forms here:
During your first visit, you will consult with your dentist about your medical history and any current or past dental issues you may have. Feel free to ask any questions you may have on your mind! We want you to be as comfortable as possible and we’re happy to take the mystery out of any aspects you don’t understand. Your doctor will then examine your mouth to create a roadmap for your treatment, whether that is just a future cleaning or further work.
Premedication, or taking antibiotics prior to your visit, is useful for those with compromised immune systems or those with heart conditions. If you believe you may require premedication prior to your appointment or procedure, please be sure to discuss this with the team and your dentist. Those with joint replacements may find that premedication is often not necessary or could be harmful, so please be clear and truthful of your medical history when discussing premedication with our team. We will happily discuss why premedication may or may not be the ideal option for you.
Following your exam, our office team will consult with you to explain the next steps, set up future appointments and discuss your insurance and payment options, as well as what the costs for your treatment down the road may look like. Further information can be found on our Financial page.
At Vernon Family Dentists we keep our communication with you as clear as possible. There are no surprises or secrets when it comes to your treatment or health. If you have any questions regarding treatment costs, our methods, or anything at all, we are always ready to listen and to answer!
